It’s pretty straightforward. This is a blog about books. Mainly for books that appeal to men.
I’ve been around books constantly for about thirty years now. It started with reading Stephen King as a teen and has meandered through most genres since then. I’ve a particular fondness for genre fiction but depending on my mood and what I have going on in my life, I’ll read most things.
Reading for me is primarily about the pleasure. I enjoy losing myself in a fantasy world. Although I do often read for knowledge, my real passion is literature. I have a background as a bookseller, having previously owned a bookshop. These days I run my own business but spend a decent amount of my free time pottering around at bookfairs and flea markets, often with friends still involved in the book trade.
My big gripe is that there doesn’t seem to be much specific discussion of men’s books online. So I write about the books that I wanted other people to write about.
